Hey, I have a friend who is thinking of transferring an extremely rare 1.5b~2b name out. He guarantees it sniped 100% if he tries to do it himself. So he's wondering if emailing a Jmod or posting in Account Help requesting Jagex to transfer it for him would work? The only thing he is worried about is that he is not the original owner, and if Jagex would simply delete his name. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

 

Jagex wouldn't help, it's considered RWT.. There's multiple ways to transfer it, if it's RFT then just wait 1-2 weeks and then transfer it at a random time, make sure no one besides your friend and the person who's getting the name knows when, and do it as fast as possible.

 

Jagex won't help. The only way is to risk the transfer.

 

The reason my friend brought this up because "1" was transferred to another account by Jagex. It might be because he is friends with a Jmod perhaps.

 

Where did you hear that information from? And you'll have to take the risk like N4no said, there's no other way around it.

I think you should take the risk, rather than approaching a Jmod.

 

If you approach a jmod with you trying to 'transfer' the name, the jmod will most likely just delete/lock the name. Your best bet is to try having him transfer it, and just risk it.

 

He should get it rft and let the buyer deal with transferring the name. If he plans on moving it to another account he should get it rft and wait a couple months to transfer it.

 

This, your best bet is to try transferring it after a System Update on RS.

..If he told the name and that it was soon to be traded that would just increase the chances of it being sniped. Needless to say, any smart person would not tell.

OP Im pretty sure your information on "1" is bullshit. Thats RWT and jagex under no circumstance would be assisting in that

 

This is rather smart, all sniping bots will be down or they are still trying to set them up again.

 

I've had a jmod transfer a name for me before, but it's extremely rare they ever will.

 

LIke what Frezny said, do the transfer just after a system update.

 

I meant the name that Jagex transfered, I have heard stories of some lesser rare names being transfered due to circumstance.

 

There is no name worth that much. My friend bought agility and 7 for less than 1.5b total
