DFS vs Obby Shield

As an owner of a dfs shield, I was starting to panic about the new update. However, it still a beastly shield with great defense stats.

I have an obby shield, and equiped it, to see what the differences are.

The obby shield gives +5% melee soaking, and +11% range soaking. Quite impressive compared to the DFS which gives nothing.

HOWEVER

The DFS gives +30 stab defense bonus, +33 slash bonus, +34 crush bonus, +10% magic, +7% range, +7% summoning and not to mention, +2 strength bonus.

I think the DFS is still much better against melee. However, the obby shield must be better against range cause of the +11% soaking.

What are your thoughts?

DFS is better, but all this "soaking" shit is dumb imo.

 

there is still alot of soaking glitches tho so alot of armours still to be tweaked as of yet.

 

I have yet to experience this soaking hit.

I just make sure my defense stats are high, who cares about soaking.

 

DFS has the spec thing, obby shield has nothing.

DFS > Obby shield

 

Why does everything have to absorb so much ranged damage...

Jagex should stop making melee so OP.

 

I think the dfs is still beast over obby. People are just panicking at the moment because it has no absorb so they think "OMFGGG ITS GONNA SUCK" when really its so much better still.
