Dedicated servers for botting?

I started off my service like that. It's just a computer with a vncserver on it.

 

They can be used for botting, but it depends on how you use them. Many people just buy overclocked servers (8GB RAM, i7 ~$180/m from ND) then make a huge swap file of around 16GB. Now they can setup around 48 nodes on the one server (oversold nodes of course) and sell them for $5 each bringing in around $240/m which is $60/m profit. This is theoretical and not 100% accurate, but used as a demonstration.

 

You will hear the term VPS also thrown around when talking about this type of thing. All a VPS is is one of these virtual nodes hosted on a larger computer. Many are vastly overpriced for two reasons. One it takes a very powerful computer to run several VPSs especially one capable of running several botting accounts. Second VPS nodes are not the easiest thing to set up. When I first started setting up VPS servers it took me around 15 hours to get one up and running.
