crashed comp

my laptop crashed sometime ago and a friend gave me his win xp pro cd sp2 and it didnt work but it worked on his, and it isnt my cd drive, i think its some of the files that are special toshiba can read, so yeah, if anyone can help add me to msn and i heard of somethign called petousb http://gocoding.com/page.php?al=petousb

Contact toshiba and see if you can get the windows cd specially for toshiba computers. Check also to see if one already came with your computer. If one didn't/you can't get one, just buy one on it's own and install that.

 

most of the cds for win xp are setup so dat only certain computers can run the cds.Only reason so companies can make money. IM not certain how do it but u can download a patch for the cds so u can operate on all computers not recommended if u dont know wat ur at. best off buying it new or try downloading.

 

ohh thanks alot, so basically it needs a certian cd? kinda figured that

 

you might need a new windows cd key aswell.
