    Computer randomly restarts

Well, it started when I got home, so I tried re-installing my windows Xp, and it still happens, there isn't an error message as far as I know, although this last time I saw one, but couldn't read it fast enough. It restarts at completely random times, any ideas what the problem could be?

your computer may be overheating, clean out your the inside of your computer dont use a vaccum or anything with static.

atfer you fixed the problem do a checkdisk to fix your computer after all the shutdowns:

    Check Disk:
Start | Run | cmd | type "chkdsk /f" then "y" and restart your computer.
What it does: Searches your hard drive for damaged clusters.

Im not sure what your reffering to. cleaning the computer or disk cleanup. Cleaning the computer shouldent tak more then 15mins and diskcleanup approximately 5 mins. Either way there both worth doing.

I'm not a computer expert or anything, but this same thing would always happen with my friend. And yea, the problem was the fan was clogged with dust and it would overheat after about 20 minutes so it would just turn off. I'm not saying that that's definitely the problem, but from experience you might want to check it out.

Dont know what kind of computer you have, but if you have a DELL, right when you start up your computer press CTRL F11. This will automatically reboot your system to which it came from, and it will be as it was the day you first bought your computer. EVERYTHING will be erased, but it may fix your problem.
