Hello sythe, recently with all the late night school/studying I've been going through, I noticed a "feature" of my computer that I'm not too happy with. If I leave for about an hour or so, the screen goes black, and the power light just flashes. the mouse and keyboard don't respond and the lights that normally glow are gone as well. I have to hold down the power and resume my session of windows. This would be all fine and dandy, but for the past week I've has an insane amount of general lag. Forget the internet connection for a second (and trust me, I've reset and called up my company already), but when I move my cursor around the framerate is choppy at best, and the sounds I hear when turning off sound like they're going through a dubstep filter. I've scanned with MSE and it found nothing, so sorry for the wall of text, but this is pretty frustrating atm. Thanks for the read/help ~Aledryx
Well the first thing sounds like it's hibernating or sleeping. Try running CCleaner from piriform.com, it usually helps. I'd check what I have running on startup. Next I'd try a defrag, just stuff like that.
Im downloading ccleaner now, and how do i check what I have running on startup and what should i look out for? sorry I'm not that great with this stuff.
well on ccleaner, go to tools, startup, and anything that isn't disabled is running on startup. Figure out what you really need and don't need running, and disable everything that's unnecessary.
I did that, got rid of a few things, now things are running fine, but with my luck it's gonna be short-lived.
Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options Then edit one of the things and you can make sure it doesn't turn your screen off/go to sleep. Sounds like somethings not fully turning back on after it goes to sleep imo. Just edit your powersaving settings like i explained above if it doesnt bother you.
I did that^^^ it runs pretty good atm, but videos i play are still iffy (they lag and it sounds like a robot is talking).
