    Alright, I have a Dell Studio 15 Laptop.

    It's a dual core,

    1: Intel Core Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz

    2: Intel Core Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz

    I also have 3GB of RAM. Now, im running Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid). My CPU for the most part, stays at 10-15% for each CPU while doing normal browsing, and its fine. As soon as i boot us RS or any other JAVA related, my CPU usage spikes to about 90% on each CPU and under Processes it has JAVA using 90+ when my only other app running, firefox, is using 3.

    My fan also goes on high instantly and freaks out. Why dosen't Ubuntu like Java?

    Hello HelpTheNet,
    I don't know much about Ubuntu but I think I can help you out. There are two options: from the web and using the terminal. I'm gonna show you the second one, as you probably know how to do the first. Open your terminal and write:

    Code:
    su
    Code:
    (your root password)
    Code:
    $ sudo aptitude install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk
    Or, you may want to update them:

    Hope I helped you,

    Fedora.
