Competitive gaming?

Who here actually has played competitively? And what game/tournament?

Have you ever won anything?

I'm just interested in playing competitively because I think that I am good enough at the games I play. Mostly the COD series. But also Crysis 2, Naruto Ninja Storm 2, Street fighter, and mortal combat.

 

I was in a halo 3 tournament with some of my buddies a few years ago when the game came out.

 

Who was it hosted by? Any big names? Like MLG or gamebattles?

 

Used to play CSS for about 5-6 years. Went to countless Multiplay Lans, Played Birmingham Salvo and lost to them 16-14 at lan, was on every news page to do with gaming as we were unknown. Yet we never won a LAN but won countless online tournaments.

 

Nice! CSS was a pretty popular choice for competitive gaming. I had forgotten about that. Mind saying what your best win was? As in prize?

 

hmm Can't really remember. and with teams always changing it wouldn't make a difference name dropping, but I'd say our greatest game was that against Salvo, as the week before they'd just won 250K at the world series, and we were the only people to actually challenge them at the LAN, they annihilated everyone else.

Was really fun at the time, but competitive gaming is also very time consuming & stressful, I'd love to get back into it. But responsibilities IRL prevent me from taking it seriously.

 

I played a bunch of gamebattles and stuff when I played Semi-Pro CoD 4. We never did tournaments for money, but I guess it counts as competitive.

 

Microsoft did it on xbox live and not really we lost after we won like 2 rounds and I think there was MLG playing cause we got smoked.

 

I don't have the computer/internet to play competitively :\

Did have a clan with a friend a while ago in CSS, but that didn't last more than a month xD

 

CSS(main), Gears of war 2(rank 150th team) , MW2 (Top page all the time)

 

Went to Meadowlands for H3 and beat Classic and Shockwave, and was in Dallas to beat Instinct.

 

Like 2 years ago, DotA tourney, local tho. Won 3rd place and won macbook lol.

 

I've done some smaller leagues with halo 3 and Dota but never any thing big. I would think it would be a ton of fun though.

 

Played a lot of GB and did pretty well, could have done better but I got a girlfriend and got a life. Won't ever go back, but my skills are still with me. I was amazing at cod4, but they just went downhill tbh.

 

IRL stuff is preventing me too. But I heard of a bunch of different competitions out there. I used to be a part of Exiled MW2 (PS3) Clan. We were ranked 3rd on MLG a year and a half ago. But it is kind of hard to find good private competitions with good prizes. I'm currently looking for some for PS3 MW2 cause i would love to get back into it.

 

I would like to participate in one of them, but ive never seen one irl, and I doubt im good enough to get far in any of them.

 

I've done some tournaments for Halo 3 and placed 1st and 2nd a few times. Also i've gone to some tournaments with my CoD team, and we placed fairly high considering we only use to play halo.

Im considering going back to halo 3 tournaments.

 

There is actually a lot of tournaments run online. I just found a site that hosts private PS3 tournaments for MW2 though! It looks like it is in the making though. But looks pretty interesting. Anyone wanna take a look and let me know what you think?

Tbh I have never played Halo competitively. I kinda wish I could. But atm I'm just stuck with PC/PS3 gaming

 

Played css at i39 and lost every single game.

Played TCM and we managed to win 1 round. (Y)
