    The CPU he actually posted was an i7-980 (not 980x).

    $600 so while still probably not a good idea it's not it's $300 more, not $700

    Oh, fail on my part. The point still applies though, except instead of it costing 3x as much it costs 2x as much for even less performance relative of the 980X/2600K.
