And that is why I use color bots, they'll remain unaffected regardless.
The people that will be banned during it will be mostly f2p or suiciders though I bet.

 

Hmm this is interesting and I look forward to it.

Reasons why I quit:

Too many bots.
Friends quit.
Jagex seemed to want $$ too much. I understand they're a business.
Ignorance of my reports. I've reported countless 100% sure bots and not one of them were banned. In fact, I tracked one as he went up to maxed combat and stayed there... which I admit, was pretty nice to track.

Nothing that Jagex does will make me play RS again, I believe. Sorry Jagex.

You guys cant wait for the bot nuke to come? I am not looking forward to the Bot Nuke lol, I'd better train my combat stats before the nuke happens.

Like previously mentioned there going to have to change the fonts and text and totally rework display to be able to get around Colour bots which would annoy even more legit players so we will have to wait and see.

Bot nuke is to be this month or early next month, already stated a long time ago.

I suspect that they've already been preparing for the nuke for some time, adding small tweaks and fixes to the game with each update and getting it ready to roll out their new botting detection system. They've most likely been gathering information on some of the bots that are out there at the moment and about those players who are still botting.

Any word if this "nuke" will accompany another mass ban? Or are they focusing more on simply disabling the remaining clients and going from there?

 

It might actually be both, banning players and disabling clients....at least thats what I would do

Anyways, Optimus is already in place. phase 2 is supposed to be coming out towards the end of this month. They said there would also be a phase 3, perhaps the combat update?

 

Old news....They will temporarily disable bots, but completely eliminating them is impossible.

 

There are currently 99% less bots at the green dragons, lvl 20 wilderness. So either, it's something to do with the log in issues created by the Crucible update, or they have already been releasing sneaky patches to combat the bots. I can see the bot patches, becoming a weekly update.

Yes, Bots will never be removed 100% for more than 24 hours, as there is too much money in it for the makers and users of botting software. With all this Anti-virus/Firewall software out there, you don't see the Hackers and Virus Creators shutting down shop!

Colour bots can be disrupted, quite easily actually.. with these updates, all they need is a few items' colour's, to be changed every day, week, month... and voila, they have a disruptive system; the bots will have to be updated as frequently as Jagex's colours. Just think if they cycled the colours every hour. Bots would become a very manual operation, instead of a Computer Farm running 24/7.

Anyway, I don't think there will be many more Nukes, Just a few fire crackers thrown in the mix... It's just not worth Jagex spending the man hours on massive patches, when even the small patches have the potential to have the same affect.

 

Of course they'll never be able to remove them all, but I do like a community with a lot less bots...just my 2 cents

 

Not all color bots work JUST from color. RiD uses 3D object recognition, shapes, textures, and geometry to identify objects and NPCs & items on the screen. Even if they changed colors multiple times a day, all it would take is some clever programming to identify the objects using methods other than just color. Even if Jagex changed the object's look completely, a simple protocol to hover mouse over it, check uptext, and then right click, and check right click text, and if it matches, they reassign that object as the new version of that object. Sure it'd take a little bit of clever programming, but not impossible to create.

 

Good thing I haven't been botting. Bots will never be the same with this continued bot nuke. We never see the glory days of botting ;(

 

What do you mean never be the same? Bots are going to come back after the nuke, it will just take some time.

 

last bot nuke had 0 effect on simba, scar and rid. I fail to see how this is going to have a effect on them this time.
