Black Magic

Do you believe in black magic and jinns? I personally never believed in it but I've been hearing a lot of stories regarding black magic and jinns, some of which my relatives themselves experienced. Have you ever experienced anything to do with black magic or jinns?

 

The thing about people saying they know what they saw is, we as humans are separated from reality by 3 layers, namely:

1: Our perceptions
2: Our interpretation of those perceptions
3: Our memories of those interpretations of those perceptions.

Our perceptions are entirely fallible, first thing. Secondly, our interpretations of what is happening is often wrong, no matter if we can't come up with reasonable explanations for something. Thirdly, our memories are fluid and changing, else we would never forget anything or find any detail hard to recall.

Given that, and given that just about any sort of "black magic" that has ever been analysed scientifically has been a parlour trick at best, no, I don't believe in black magic - even if someone says they've experienced it personally.

 

No, it's a load of fucking horseshit.

 

I believe it and they exist, but it shouldn't happen, people should get real and ficys on what's important rather than messing with that stuff.

Magic does not exist, no. An instance of magic implies that we can witness the event and that the event does not prescribe to the laws of nature. Now, anything that does not apply the laws of nature is beyond our perception; and anything that is within our perception is bound by the laws of nature. So magic, by definition, does not exist.
