I'd say superheating steel bars. You lose only a few GP.

 

I don't care about money tbh.. Superheating is disgusting and slow

50k/hour superheating.

Anyway, the fastest method is, as somebody posted, barraging in the abyss. There's a guide somewhere to ensure you hit 9 of the monsters with each cast.

Why don't I buy it now Well I just bought 70 adamant plate body so I can't buy it for another 4 hrs because that is how the GE system work and must wait until some one make or sell so GE will have it in stock that is how the game work.

 

You could also try plank make/amulet string/hunter kit spells from the lunar spellbook.

 

I've bought armor pieces to alch to 94 mage, and I did profit it just takes time. the fastest method by far is to stun alch, or do what I did 4 years ago have 25 people stand on each other in your poh and barrage em I did this in 2006 and got shit load of exp per cast, or barrage mummies in chaos tunnels, or skeles in ape atoll dungeon

 

The fastest, but expensive method of training magic is barraging/bursting. You can do it at rock lobsters if you want charms, or at skeleton monkeys for pure xp. You can get over 250k xp per hour by using this method. Also, it requires less work then stun-alching.

But 70 alchs every 4 hours is pretty crap mage xp, despite making a profit.
