Best mage setup

Currently 80 def, 91 mage

Best setup for under 50m budget?

Best setup for under 100m budget?

Don't have chaotic staff atm, might get later. Nor do I have arcane stream (might get) So I need an alternative to that

Currently using gano cuz i'm cheap but im not sure if subjugation is worth it while training at waterfiends

 

Subjugation is better if you were actively fighting aggressive monsters that tend to pile you (bosses, Exiled Kalphites, Dagannoths, Rorarii, etc.) because it doesn't degrade.

These are the setups I would use, seeing as you don't have a Chaotic Staff. I highly recommend getting it though. The Arcane Stream; not so much but that's just my opinion.



50m Setup:

Head: Ganodermic Visor or Hood of Subjugation
Neck: Dragonrider Amulet
Chest: Ganodermic Poncho or Garb of Subjugation
Legs: Ganodermic Leggings or Gown of Subjugation
Boots: Ragefire Boots
Gloves: Static Gloves
Weapon: Armadyl Battlestaff or Abyssal Wand
Shield: Abyssal Orb
Ring: Sixth Age Circuit
Pocket: Scrimshaw of Vampyrism or Wicked Pouch
Aura: Greater Runic Accuracy or Vampyrism Aura

50m Setup Costs via Wiki:

Gano + Arma Bstaff = 28.4m gp
Gano + Abby Wand & Orb = 26m gp
Subj + Arma Bstaff = 43.4m gp
Subj + Abby Wand & Orb = 41m gp

100m Setup:

Head: Virtus Mask
Neck: Dragonrider Amulet
Chest: Virtus Robe Top
Legs: Virtus Robe Legs
Boots: Ragefire Boots
Gloves: Static Gloves
Weapon: Armadyl Battlestaff or Abyssal Wand
Shield: Abyssal Orb

I don't see lots of people using arma staff anymore. Would using the highest level spell (earth surge) be the best?

Also, if I havent dont tww. would seers ring be the next best?

 

True a lot don't because now Dungeoneering is easy enough to get a Chaotic Staff in a day. However, most people dual wield Seismic Wand and Singularity or Virtus Wand and Book because staffs are 2h.

Seer's would be the cheaper ring, however, the next best would be Onyx Ring (i). Seer's works just as fine though.
