Barrows pure [advice needed]

Well, let's make it short and simple.
I let my friend on my Barrows pure awhile back, so he could PK.
Months rolled by, and he was completely honest, and everything was in good hands.
Anyways...
I stopped playing RuneScape, for a good two weeks or so, to actually make it to my gf's softball games.
&&
Just recently, I logged on yesterday with an added TWO Defence levels!

My stats were:
92 Attack
99 Strength
70 Defence
74 Ranged
70 Prayer
99 Magic

and now I'm:
92 Attack
99 Strength
72 Defence
74 Ranged
70 Prayer
99 Magic

I'm now wondering... Is my pure ruined? Would it possibly be still OK, if I shot for 75 Defence, maxed my Attack and Ranged, and bought a DFS?

Depends on when you call your pure ruined. Barrow pures were the kind of players that want to have the good things about barrows armour, but also wanted higher attack and strength. I'm not sure if you can still enter the med crater with those stats, if you'll have to go to the high crater you could call your account ruined as a pure since it doesn't matter anymore if it's good for your lvl. Also the DFS isn't really worth it for bounty hunting, maybe for boss hunting.

 

Very true, and I see where you're getting at.
Once you move up to the high crater, pures are useless then, since you will be possibly fighting 138s, etc.
I guess there's not much I can do.
I might as well just become a main, and max Defence?
Maybe I'll just wait and see what's up with the new PvP minigame coming out.

 

barrow pures usually have 70 - 75 def anyways so either way you can call it barrows pure, mine has 73 def i call it barrows pure ppl agree so obv i say max out att and range then 75 def gl

 

But then what will I do afterward?
I don't think PKing in BH would be much of an option, since I would be in High Crater.

 

no, 2 defence lvls dont matter. your a high lvl and 2 lvls dont make a difference. keep it as it is or train range. you're nt gna take the dfs to bh r u so dnt get def to 75

 

Dude, I wouldn't even worry about the 2 def levels... I don't even think they would effect your combat (maybe 1 combat lvl). Still a ownage barrows pure...

Go for 75 def, and were the gwd armor
it wont change ur lvl too much and you will have better def bonus

 

Well, I was playing around with the combat calc...and, if I got these stats (below), I'd end up at 112 combat, which is max of mid-crater.
97 Attack
99 Strength
72 Defence
99 Ranged
70 Prayer
99 Magic
and... 90 HP? I figured i'd go for lower HP and higher Attack? (any tips would be greatly appreciated)

Also, if anyone has some good Barrow pures tactics or BH methods, I'd be glad if you could possibly PM me.

 

Get 95 Attack, 99 str, stay 72 def, get 99 range, stay 70 pray. Then you will totally own in med level bh higher hp helps btw, 1 hp could save your life.

 

i think that your bbarrows pure is ownage. the 2 def lvls wont matter even if it brings you a cb lvl up. i would say keep it at 72 as 75 would be pointless because the lvls are close together. keep it up!! =D

 

get 99 att and 75 def for dfs

 

VERY nice acc man, don't worry about that 72 def, it probly didnt even lvl cb? if not only 1 lvl. imo stay 72 def and get as high atk as possible keeping 1 lvl safe so u can pk for ages happy bhing

First of all nice stats.
Im also a barrow pure, only 82 99 70 atm thou, currently alching for 99 mage .

The 2 defence wont make that much difference at all, id be suprised if it got u a combat level. There also seems to be quite alot of people agreeing that you should max out to be effective in the higher crater. I'd have to disagree, my target is to get 99 99 70 and i still think il own in high crater, its not hard to get someone off you and its not as if 130's are actually going to try and fight with you because they know your not going to stay and fight them.

Im only combat 107 atm, but i often high crater bh, i find that people safe less in there and the loot is generally better, although it is hard to find a fair fight in combat levels. My best pk in high crater at 107 is tassets and ive only lost 1 set of dh, yet to die in torags and whip etc. So i fail to see how when your 99 99 70 you'll be uneffective at high crater bh.
