I have this problem where my internet will disconnect at random times. It will happen around 5-10 times a day. This prevents me from doing things like kalphite hunting or fight caves.

My modem has 4 lights in this order:

Power Ethernet DSL Internet

When the internet is working, all 4 lights will be on. But when it randomly disconnects, the DSL light will be blinking rapidly and the internet light will be off.

My internet plan says '1500k broadband'. I only have one phone and one modem and they are both connexted to the same filter.

Sometimes this random disconnect will make the internet not work for HOURS if I dont do anything when it disconnects. However when I pick up my phone and dial random numbers as soon as the internet disconnects, then 90% of the time the internet will be fine and work again. I am not kidding about the dial random numbers part.

Please help me, this has greatly reduced my experience on Rs and prevented me from doing things that require a consistent and reliable connection. I have used 2 internet providers and both have the SAME problem. But my friends and stuff done have this problem!

 

Well if your using wireless then disconnecting is part of daily activity.

For wired your router might be overheating try unplugging it for 10mins.

Having your phone and your modem on the same filter may be causing some interference.

If that dosent work see if you have a cd for your NIC card or motherboard CD they useally come with a tester to see if your moutehrboard or NIC card is bad.

 

Hey Phil, I got some questions I really need answered.

I bought a new HP laptop from walmart. Works fine and everything is great.

Problems:

1. It says I need a base score of a 3.0 to run the new Halo 2 game. My 3d gaming thing is a 2.6 and I was wondering if I could get to 3 so i can actually play the game.
   
2. Halo 1 for windows isn't working either. (The problem for both the games is that it runs really slow and choppy. Sort of like lag)

Thats about it. If you could help me that would be GREAT.

 

Well it seems that the "base score" is some gay thing that windows made up. You have a nice computer but it seems the graphics card is not complying with microsofts base score.

Im not sure if they sell video cards for laptops.

Try playing halo 1 on safe mode, ive played halo 1 on safe mode on computers much suckier than yours

thats the computer im gettin for christmas. Im gona upgrade it to 1gb of ram and gona get a 4 or 8gb sd card.

And im gona install windows 2000 on it.
