[APPROVED/REVIEW] Lootboxes!

So this is in a way piggybacking off of someone's wheel of fortune idea a while back. First of all, I'd like to put the disclaimer out there that this idea might be a little un-nescesarily complicated, and possibly not a viable idea to implement. But it would be a lot of fun, possibly bring in income, possibly increase activity within discussion forums.

I'm a huge proponent of the lootbox model when it's used more for fun and activity rather than a cashgrab. You can see my original 2014 suggestion for the successful Sythe Prizeboxes here. Essentially under my suggestion, users would receive keys for donations, randomly for posting in general discussion, in exchange for Sythe gold, and possibly as a daily login reward.

I made a basic draft today which includes prizes in five tiers:

Common
Rare
Epic
Legendary
Colossal

Each tier is significantly more rare than the last. Each instance, 3-5 or so prizes will be won with at least one being rare or higher with increasing prizes. Just like Hearthstone and other addictive game models.

Currently my ideas for prizes are:
OSGP
Prizebox 'Shards' (100 = craft a full prizebox)
Sythe Gold
Donation Credits (Legendary+)
Funrank (Colossal)

But there are countless prizes that could be added. We could even do promotions like Runescape's Treasure Hunter.

All in all it's a fun idea that may not have too much practicality when compared to how much work it will take. Hope to get some good discussion going at least, based on the popularity of the wheel of fortune idea.

Okay okay, I like where you are going here, ATM @Shin wants to rework miniranks, and funranks as it is. As well as remove sythe gold from the site, so I don't believe the idea is bad, but your prize system would be a tad flawed if I have to be honest, I would see what shin has to say about this, if we can find a better way to implement prizes which could possibly be this, then sure. But as i'm not him, I'm going to leave this with a neutral voting ~~~

 

I think that something that could give us certain tier of mini ranks could be a good idea.

I know we have a market for them, but I also know a lot of people are grinding them up for sythe gold.
