    Appealing inappropriately acquired infractions

So i hadn't checked my account lately but looked a week ago and noticed I've received an infraction for allegedly "Spamming".

I reviewed the thread to see how this had occurred, and i didn't find it to a satisfactory level that it was spam and lust eligible to be awarded an infraction.

I contacted the corresponding moderator who allocated it to me, stating my explanation to why i disagree with his decision, and his response was

"Either way it's not like I can do anything about it anymore Sorry"

I don't see why i should receive an infraction for effectively a mid-judgement on his behalf, debatably an abuse of power.

I would like for the appropriate personnel on here to remove it if possible.

If you want a copy of my explanation/PM to the moderator, i will gladly forward it to you.

    Thanks

You are free to PM another Moderator/higher member of staff for a second opinion on it if you feel the infraction is unwarranted.

I may do, as you can see in the quote above, the moderator himself seemed to rethink his action but his comment implied he did not have the ability to remove it. Seems strange they can apply them, but not remove them.

Any moderator can reverse an infraction they issued.

If you want, feel free to link the infracted post here and I can probably give some view of why you were infracted and may be having trouble in getting it reversed.

Generally you're going to want to PM the moderator who issued the infraction. In your case, I believe that they were in fact warranted. In the future, try to add something more insightful into a comment, rather than "agreed" or "this^"

As I stated in a previous thread spamming really falls under 'Short or unhelpful comments that don't add to or further the discussion at hand'. So anything where you aren't adding to the discussion is spamming, like as Sypherz pointed out if you just put 'Agreed' that is a useless comment that could've been done without and is therefore spamming.

Mods are generally very friendly and if you discuss with them your infraction and present why it wasn't spamming and how it added to the conversation then they may reverse it. If they feel it is warranted they usually tell you exactly why.

I did PM the moderator but had no luck.

I still disagree with his decision and find it quite insulting, but it would appear there is nothing more to be done and Im gonna have to wait for it to expire, I'm very disappointed.

Id like to see myself as an active, contributing member of the community and to receive an infraction i feel is unjustified, to be a complete stab in the back.

You can close this thread now, my question is effectively answered.

Like I said before, you are allowed to PM another mod for a second opinion. Nevertheless you may want to double check what you post next time just to be sure it won't be infracted for spamming and such.
