Annoying Leech

There's this kid in my history class, let's call him John. John had no friends at the beginning of the year, and me being at the top of my game and feeling awfully generous decided to be extra-nice to him (hang out with him, introduce him to friends, save him a spot at our lunch table etc).

Now it's halfway into the year and this kids made me unpopular as hell. I figured out why people dislike him, hes one of the funniest kids I've met but extremely annoying.

Not just regular annoying, but the shut-the-fuck-up annoying. Like when you're talking to him, he's always trying to interrupt the natural flow of the conversation by delievering a joke. When he fails, he keeps trying and raises his voice to drown out other people, and stutters, so everyone just leaves.

Anyway, he's been kind of following me around,stealing my friends, and making me look bad. For example, this girl I've had a crush on for a long time asked me for my phone number. Before I could do anything this faggit makes a crack at me (that was pretty funny, but insulting nonethless) and everyone starts laughing. Then the girl gets really embarrassed and walks away.

Whenever I try to talk to friends about like the football game or this crazy dance, he butts in and says some random shit and won't shut up and then the other guy just leaves.

Everytime my popularity dips, his popularity goes up, and I'm just appalled at home ungrateful he was. I felt bad for him, made him a lot of friends, and now he's backstabbing me.

I just want to know what is the most practical way to get rid of this leech.

 

I hate to be the rude type and stuff but I personally would tell him to STFU. But honestly all you can do is talk to him about it like you posted this thread.

 

Maybe this thread would be better off in PS&A.

Tell him to quit being a jackass infront of all your friends. or get one of your friends to tell him to stfu and maybe he will catch the hint ha.

 

First of all I respect you for being nice to him. I always feel bad for those who have no one around them to talk to. However, what he's done is everything but grateful. I suggest you talk with him about the situation. Clearly state that what you are going to say is serious before you start talking to him, and repeat that when you've explained how you feel. Then 'John' should realise that his behaviour is inappropriate and that he will lose your companionship if he doesn't change his attitude. Good luck!

 

I'd personally suggest that you try to talk to him and break the news in an easy way that you don't want to hang out with him. Or you could find a reason as finn said to be mad towards him, maybe even shove him around a bit and call him names. Therefore he will get the hint/understand that you dont want him following you.

Wow this girl did that to me in the summer because i didn`t show up at the mall to meet her... wow.... she didn`t talk to me for 4 months then recently started again and then went back to ignoring me... eh...

I would go with what Finn says it works... for guys and girls ZZZZ

 

Just talk to him about it and if he won't change his ways just say that we can't be friends sorry.

I would send a message to him , or beat him up because kids like him cannot be ignored or avoided

 

You need to really teach this kid what he's about. do the same to him, and tell him to actually gtfo or punch him. I know a guy like this and he's a real douche.

 

Ok, well, I was in the same situation tbh. But the thing is, all you have to do, is have a comeback, something better than what he says, and just show obvious disgust if he does something stupid ^_^ it may make you seem stuck up, but it'll make him feel little and less confident again, and eventually people will realise that you were right ^_^

You just need to break it to him. Let him know you guys aren't 5 anymore and he isn't funny. Let him know in a polite way, if he keeps doing it just bring it to him.

 

Ignoring him will work, but it will take some time for him to finally give up. People like that usually don't take being ignored very well and will just make him lash out at you harder at first. I guarantee a good fist to the jaw will get him off your back or at least straighten him up. Sometimes that's the only option you have when dealing with people like that. You can try threatening to hit him instead or take furious offense over something like stated above, but he more than likely isn't going to take it seriously and it certainly won't keep him away from you.

 

Finn had a genius Idea. If I were in your position, I would tell him how he is. Sit down and try to have a legit conversation. let him know how his actions make you feel and try to compromise with him on some things.
