    Hey guys,

Any anime watchers out there? Give me some suggestions! :D

    Quick Questions:
What's been your most favorite anime for this year?
What's some of your all time favorite animes?
Are you currently watching anything, if so what?
Looking forward to any upcoming anime?

EDIT: Just noticed this probably should have gone in Media! Sorry!

Series or movies, it's fine either way. I actually havn't seen the first two you listed. Heard they were good though! Shingeki No Kyojin (Attack on Titans) was awesome!

If you liked attack on titans first season, you will like the other two.

Are they long series? Once I have time, I should take a look lol. Been pretty busy with Uni recently though. Are you currently watching anything?

As someone who lived in Japan for a year, I can only recommend that you don't identify with the word "otaku". It's an inherently negative and derogatory word used to describe people with an unhealthy obsession for something, so I find it weird that the west seems to embrace the idea.

As far as anime is concerned though, I was always a fan of Ghost in the Shell, To Love-Ru, Black Cat, Higurashi etc.

Whoa, never really thought about the "Otaku" word in that sense. Just learned something new! Just did some research on it, and learned so much already. :O Didn't know it didn't carry a positive meaning in Japanese culture. It actually connotes a negative meaning for being a word that describes someone being overly obsessive and is a stereotype for people who are shut off from reality in a sense--and are socially lacking. As it is used quite a bit in the West as being having interests in Anime/Manga--so a term used for entertainment, I suppose--I didn't think it would have a "shadowed" meaning. Personally, I always thought that people used it in a sense to describe a hobby--which may most likely be the case--wouldn't have the negative meaning. I did not--with any means--mean to offend anyone or use this to describe anybody or myself with it's negative meaning as sometimes associated with Japanese culture. Mainly I meant fans. :D

Although this may be the case, it's good to note its history and usage of the word. Well, I guess this a good example that shows that having an understanding of other cultures and meanings is a good place to start for understanding each other. Thanks for the info guys! Now I'll make sure to not use the word carelessly without regards to its deeper and negative meaning in Japanese.

Chill, dude, haha. I was just making a recommendation based on the fact that I can actually speak Japanese and I understand their culture (more or less). You weren't really being offensive.
