Alcoholism

Alcoholism is not a disease, people that may claim this may infact be a disease though!

 

No i would not see it as a disease more as an obsession

 

It's an addiction. I mean, sure, people can have genes that make them get addicted more than another person, but it's definitely not a disease, as you can prevent it simply by not drinking.

Those People Think Of Diseases Such as "aids" ect..

You are influences by your surrounding and if alchoholism is in your family, you are more likely to start drinking yourself. I havn't done enough research and neither has anyone here to have a proper biological answer, but I honestly think that under the right conditions you can subconciously want alcohol without having the experiences your forefathers had.

Psychologists have full understanding, and know that it is uncurable like many other habits. You may stop but the craving will continue. My father himself is acohol dependent, he has huge mood swings and his judgement is often effected. It's an addiction and it's destroyed his life. Most of the time he's sober but even then he acts differently. He cannot function like a regular person, his mind has become so fucked up that he's intollerable and he looks in he looks nearly 20 years older than he is. It is not the alcohol that effects him so much anymore but the desire, dependence for it.

His father lived to be 93 and looked better.
