Ad for Ad?

Ok I'm new to this whole "money making website" idea but my friend is semi-successful with it (He makes like $25 a month, part time.) I'm not exactly sure how to get started but I was looking at taking a simmilar approach towards youtube's SUB 4 SUB idea. I got over 1 k subs doing that so what the heck it might work for clicking ads.
