ACT Test

I'm taking the ACT tomorrow, is anyone else? What do you expect you'll get on it? If you already have took it, what did you get on it?

 

It's hard, some sections you might not even have enough time to finish.

My first time taking it I got a 27, which I hear is surprisingly good for someone with no Algebra 2/Chemistry experience (I was not a Junior yet). It's out of 36, also.

If it's your first time, don't expect too much.

 

I'm hoping i can do good, i want a 25+ but I'm not expecting much, i do good under pressure and i know I'll most likely be able to finish the sections.

 

Never took them, as i am able to get into college without.

But if you get a 30 or higher, you can usually get a lot of money off your college, if not a free ride.

So yeah. I didn't study for them or anything. I guess it's a big deal for people who are going to a good college. The state college I'm going to has very low standards, so it was never a priority. Also, I wouldn't have received any extra money or benefits if I would have scored a little higher. But ehh, that fucking science part, it's was horrible for me. I thought the first time was bad... totally screwed up the second time.

Anyways, post your scores motherfuckers.

 

Pretty much a joke. If you're Asian (like me), expect anywhere between 33-36 on your first sitting. The math and science sections are pretty preliminary sciences, and the reading/writing sections are fairly similar to the SAT.

I took the SAT a bit back, just got the results... I still gotta look and see what I got. It took 5 hours to take...was hell.

 

I'm taking the SAT. I've never heard of the ACT...I'll probably look into it.

 

ACT is more towards Science and History, I believe.

 

i got like a 26 on act when i took it but my sat was 1340 so i used that for college.

 

My final scores were 22, 21, 24, 22. its not that difficult. SAT is better imo.

 

Is this a US based test? I haven't heard of it in Canada.

I've heard stories of people doing all B and getting a 20 ACT score.

I'll post a screenshot of my scores in a bit, got a 28.4 composite first attempt/no prep. Getting a 22 on the science destroyed me. I'm confident I'll get a 30+ when I take it in April.

Not to mention I was under a lot of stress... the day before the test I was in the hospital with my mom seeing if she would survive the cancer for 5+ years.

 

From what I've heard it is quite simple, never took it as it is not mandatory in my field of study.

 

I took the SAT, but I had friends that took the ACT for fun. They said that it was a lot more logic based than the SAT on the reading and writing parts, i.e., there is little inference.

 

The concepts aren't that hard, it's just having to deal with the time limits.

 

They never made me take it :S

From what I've read, the ACT isn't too hard; it's similar to the SAT. You just need to do tons of practice tests and you'll be guaranteed 33+ on every subject. Not too hard I think.

i just took it, it was a pretty simple test, the time restraints made it a little difficult but I'm pretty sure i got 25+. It is based off science, math, english, reading, and you have the option to take a writing portion which i did. I'm most likely going to take the SAT whenever its offered.
