That's correct. They shouldn't be able to stop somebody. However, the majority of people who are suicidal have a treatable mental condition, so it would be silly for them to commit suicide. If, however, it's just how the person feels, then they should be allowed to.

 

Ok, what about smoking? Should people be able to smoke Marijuana in there own private time while alone?

Should prostitutio be legal, it is also the womans body, isn't the government over stepping it's boundaries?

These are just examples of things the government do to look better socially.

 

So I take it you do not eat animals or plant matter? Both of them are living, both of them die.

OT: To be honest, it does not matter whether you think abortion is wrong or not. It is ultimately the choice of the woman who is pregnant.
I am 19 years old and would not consider myself for parenthood for another good 10 years. A girl getting pregnant from a split condom or a missed pill is not their own fault. They should not have to sacrifice their life for a mistake on a condoms behalf. People say they should give up a baby for abortion, it is not that easy. Imagine carrying something around inside you for 9 months and then having to hand it over the minute it is born.
That also links into my next point, the fact that a lady gives BIRTH after 9 months, an abortion is not killing a born being, it is like cooking an egg I guess. Both of them have the potential to turn into a living being.

Ok, that is fine, I don't agree with abortion on a level that I will have every have one. Although to me it is all or nothing, either the government should allow people complete freedom when it comes to there body, or none at all.

its one persons body and they should be able to do to it whatever they would like. now you can argue that it causes damage to another human being but i still stand by my statement.

 

i loathe abortion personally, a guy i know in my school believes very strongly in pro-choice, i call him a baby killer(just saying how much i hate it) weve also got into to yelling arguments inthe middle of lunch about it...abortion is very wrong

 

It's not a baby. It's a fetus.

Besides, to call him a baby killer implies that he actually kills babies. I doubt he does.

Killing anything that has even the slightest chance of becoming alive, should be highly illegal. Just the .0000001 chance it will grow up, and live a life, should be considered enough to ban abortion.

 

What about spermicide? The sperm and the egg will become a life. spermicide destroys the sperm.

Even a condom prevents the sperm and egg from uniting. Wait, so does abstinence! Should a woman be forced to become pregnant at every possible opportunity?

Anyway, how do you plan to get around the whole "personal privacy" issue?

 

Not pro-life myself, but you'd be surprised how early children can feel pain, etc.

IMO the only real solution is not to be irresponsible about your sex life.

People can be irresponsible all they want. It's their prerogative, not the government's.

As far as I'm aware of, stem cell research is NOT banned by the U.S. Government.... Since UW (University of Wisconsin) still does stem cell research. I believe that abortion is just fine. There is nothing wrong with abortion, as it does not affect the baby in anyway. Hell, the kid can't even feel anything...

I can see what you're saying, but let's be honest. A society in which irresponsibility is considered okay would be a complete failure. If free choice and human rights are so important to you, there are countries with less guidelines and more freedom (take the netherlands, for example).

I don't know about you, but I would prefer to sacrifice a few 'rights' with such questionable integrity in order to live in the greatest country in the world.

i beleive it is rite in some cases such as rape etc. where the girls were forced but if they hae blame in it i dont think they should cause thats still a life going away. It may also be rite to abort if you think you cant take care of this child he has no father, he will have a bad future etc.

It probably would be, but people are still free to be as irresponsible as they please.

I think abortion is fine, if someone cuts off their arm, do people run around protesting in the street? Having an abortion is like killing a part of yourself, seeing as the baby is still attached, dependent, and receiving nutrients from you.
But the person who aborts the baby should be punished by having their leg cut off. That would stop all those slutty teenagers breeding more slutty teenagers and spreading STDs around.
