Well, we currently have ONE programming mod and SEVERAL programming forums.

We also have ranks assigned to people who are experienced with a particular language (ie. Visual Basic Programmer, Java Programmer, PHP Programmer, etc). These ranks currently do nothing.

My suggest is to give the people with these specialty ranks powers to lock, move and sticky threads in their corresponding forum.

This makes it easier for those who are experienced with a particular language to aid those who are trying to learn/need help.

Last I heard, Cracker Head didn't do anything either?

Java Programmar, VB, PHP etc are all just showing that you can program. But I agree that more mods are needed in the programming section.

Yea, we need some more mods that might make the section more active, and might delete the threads people create to gain post count... :/

And people with the programming ranks are also the people who are expected to know the most about their particular programming language. Of course, the ranks would have to be given to some more people (I'm the only active Java Programmer, for example).

I think having several 'specialist' programmers for each forum works better than having one or more 'overall' programming mods who may not know about a specific language (not saying you don't, Swan).

I think one more Programming moderator would be good. I don't fancy giving the people with ranks the ability to lock, sticky and delete threads. The ranks were given to the people who have shown that they are talented in a particular programming language, not that they are responsible.

I'm sure through some revision a few permissions could be organized, but for the most part, I don't really agree with this. One more mod would be good, as it would then split the workload up, however when it comes to the programmer ranks, I think it's best just to leave as is for now.

I agree more mods are needed but I'm not just giving all the PHP/Java whatever people power. Just because they know a programming language doesn't mean they're qualified to mod.
