12.4km short side (adjacent)
32.5km (opp)
X - Find the Value

3 terms are
SIN
COS
TAN


other terms are

OPP
HYP
ADJ

So is x a side or is it an angle? coz if its an angle then you use tan (opposite over adjacent).

 

x is the side but it is neither opp or adj
32.5km is the opp
an 12.4km is the adj

SOHCAHTOA
SIN - Opposite over Hypotenuse
COS - Adjacent over Hypotenuse
Tan - Opposite over Hypotenuse

you have to find the hypotenuse (x)
formula is

c2 = a2 + b2 c=hyp a=adj b=opp

x2= 12.4(2) + 32.5(2) (2) = squared

x2= 153.76 + 1056.25

x2= 1210.01

x= Square root of (1210.01)

x=34.785198

.:. x is equalled to 34.78km
