Got 70 range today. Will probably do more questing tomorrow then get strength up.

Haha yeah, just been trying to get the xp as fast as possible.

Ended up chinning to 80 range today:


but chins are so expensive now I probably won't keep doing it for long. I was getting ~210k xp/hr with red chins, does anyone know if this is good or not? Also, does anyone know how much it costs to use blowpipe? Thinking of going to NMZ to train from now on.

In response to your question, 210k exp per hour at 80 range is pretty standard without void I believe - I would normally expect maybe 130k-140k exp per 1k chins.

Are you throwing on accurate or rapid?

Normally 1k chins are thrown in about 35 minutes, 2k (normally a trip) are thrown in an hour and 10 minutes. Expect 210k-250k realistically.

Again, depends on your gear also.

I updated the OP with some more progress. I think my current plan is to imbue my archer and berserker ring at NMZ, then chin to 70 combat, then get 55 slayer from Chaeldar (because Vannaka has just been giving horrible tasks) and train str with a leaf-bladed sword. I think I got my prayer too high too soon for me to PK at the mid-high levels for gmaulers (like ~60 cmb), so I'm going to get my range/str higher before PKing and start at around 70 cmb. I might make another account later to experience the lower levels though.

I've been getting DCed a lot recently though, which is annoying when I have to use a host to get NMZ points efficiently.

Does my plan sound reasonable? Also, does anyone know if an unholy book or book of war is better for melee training? Not really sure how things will turn out >_<

 

Your plan is the best way of going around things. It's horrible attempting to PK against higher levels when your account isn't ready yet.

I prefer using Book of war, just out of preference but I'm sure RSWiki will have a comparison guide for the both of them.

Good luck m8, Dont really get the low level attack and strenght? Why not just go for pure ranger? Nice with prayer.

 

I will end up getting 50 attack and probably maxing out strength down the line. Once I get 99 range I can get 99 strength without gaining any combat levels so might as well get it.

50 att 99 str was a pure i always wanted due to it being perfect with 99 range mage without gaining combat levels would be so nice man
