Yes it killed the game in a nostalgic or simplistic sense but there is much to be gained from it, too. In order for RuneScape to attract new players (and retain existing players who play other games) it had to try and match what other games were putting out. There was only so long the old style...

The challenge type videos that RuneShark used to do were very entertaining. That niche is still kind of open for someone new.

Is the skill going to be an opt in/out one or have things changed since the RuneFest announcement?
