Could i just let the screen saver turn on? Or would closing the lid do a better job at preserving screen life?

Is there any potential problems with leaving my laptop on 24/7 to run bots? I've taken the battery out of the laptop to prevent battery life loss, and it's running solely off of wall power. I have a reasonable screen saver setting turned on too. Should i turn of my laptop/restart it occasionally?
