Infractions generally seem to be given out carelessly- almost out of boredom as opposed to a true sense of duty it seems. This is not what my topic is based upon.

Over the course of these few months here as a part of this community i have had many questionable infractions inflicted on my account- few of them simply, impudently labeled 'Private'. When i have an outstanding problem with an authoritative figure i almost always confront them- and i always receive a commendable response. Until recently i had always felt strongly about the majority of our staff- and respected most of their decisions.

About a week or so ago i received another one of few 'private' infractions. This one made absolutely no sense and lingered with me as i was bewildered by it. Moderator 'Rawr Im Phat' had dispensed this particular infraction and i questioned him about it hours upon receiving it- with a lack of response to this very day.

I am told that i have the privilege to question the authenticity of each and every infraction, and i rarely do so unless the specific infraction entails no evidence of a rule breach whatsoever. I believe that if 'private' infractions are administered the moderator should personally provide proof accordingly- otherwise it seems as though they are just trying to meet their daily quota.. and this is not fair.

Lastly, although this is not particularly relevant to the topic suggested.. i'd like to throw in that moderator Louis seems to be way out of his element. He is young, with an elementary conception of these forums. I feel that his power was granted solely from popularity amongst other staff members whether it be from his trivial 'tinychat' channel or his pseudo-contribution(s). This is the feedback forum, this is my feedback.

Private infractions are ones that are given for deleted posts/threads.

Contrary to what many people think; we do not administer infractions out of boredom, or to meet a quota.

Private infractions simply mean they are from a post that is no longer available.

We only administer them when we feel it's appropriate. You are completely within your rights to ask why you received an infraction, I commend you on that. PMing him was the right thing to do, maybe he hasn't checked all of them yet (he's a pretty busy person). I'm sure he'll be happy to provide you with the reason as to why the infraction was given out - as I'm also sure he'll stumble upon this thread.

I am completely aware of this. What good will an infraction do if i am not even able to reflect on whatever 'mistake' i made? If infractions aren't in effect specifically to allow members to learn from their mistakes what good are they.

Furthermore, i don't believe it is fair for a moderator to blatantly dispose of evidence... this applies to all levels of authority in society.

It's equally as counterproductive to leave a rule-breaking post to fester and potentially encourage others to break the rules. The evidence is not 'disposed' of. If you wish to see the posts that were infracted and are now listed as private, you should PM me or another global. We can still see the posts that were deleted.

In many cases the PM will clarify the infraction. Seeing as the moderator administered the infractions before the deletion of said thread/post.

I will anticipate this with much desire then.

A while back i recall moderators editing flagged posts and specifying what is is (x) user did wrong rather then completely removing the post from the public eye. Perhaps this would influence other users to avoid these apparent wrong-doings.

Basically, when we infract people, we have the chance to send an accompanying message. Some moderators do this, others don't. We're not obliged to send any kind of justification for your infractions. If you're really that devastated that you don't know which post you have been infracted for, just PM a global like I suggested.

You've completely misread me. This is NOT about vanity- i am questioning the competence of provided staff members and the motive behind such infractions. Whether or not my example infraction was ethical i guess we will find out.

It's nothing to do with competence. It's to do with removing offending posts from the forum.

Decided that I would join in. Criterion is very correct. Rawr Im Phat gave me 2 infractions both saying "Private", When I asked him, he just didn't reply. I don't really care about the infractions.. It's a site online.. I rarely get infractions.. So the chances of ban are slim. Unless of course the infractions are given out to me unfairly as I seem to think these are.. As Criterion stated, If I have done something wrong.. How am I meant to fix it without knowing what I did or when? Just because some Mods are lazy that doesn't mean they should half-enforce the rules by showing somebody did something but not showing what and then we don't even know what we did for them, meaning we may repeat the offence through not knowing. If I recieve one more private infraction from "Rawr Im Phat" I believe he is giving out infractions unfairly and should be considered for demotation considering the job of his is the enforce rules, not ban people. Let's face it, Infractions are designed to stop a member repeating an offence, not to just ban.

You and i have a very different understanding of competence i suppose.

Same thing sunlink did, sunlink was recently exploited for how much of a faggot he is and hasn;t made a "rare" drop video since.

uber faggotry.

Why do we tolerate posts like this? My confrontational response to this offensive post was removed from the thread yet this one still lingers and people even sympathize with him. Don't tell me that 'offensive' posts are removed for the sake of the community.

Perhaps you're the incomptent one for failing to comply with the rules of the website in the first place.

Maybe you should read my previous posts. Its as easy as asking a global to present the evidence as to why you were infracted. If you can't be bothered to do that, why can you be bothered to make a big fuss about it?

Did you even read the thread? He's probably busy.

If you aren't satisfied with the timeliness of his responses just PM a Global to get it sorted out

Hence i am not a staff member. I am still fairly new to this community and therefore shouldn't be expected to stand out above others.

Refer to my competence post again- i edited it but you must not have caught on before responding.

This is exactly what we have a report button for. Please use it.

This is my exact point. I reported this post minutes after it was made, and confronted him about the offensive nature of his use of derogatory terms while still being on topic. My post(s) were removed, his were not. This is a blatant state of carelessness and prejudice on the staffs behalf- tell me if im wrong.

It's probably just a mistake. It's very easy to make one mistake when you're doing hundreds and hundreds of spam reports every day. You can't expect every action/decision by every moderator to be 100% flawless. We're people, not robots.

Can you please just PM a global moderator like here.

This thread is getting annoying, everytime I click view new posts I get this when I am trying to find something else.

/I'll take the infraction for this if it will get this thread to stop getting bumped.

Okay, so it was a mistake. Incompetence in the truest sense. No offense, im not trying to burn bridges... but this was what i was trying to establish all along- nothing more nothing less.
