    Glitching/Luring

    Gltiching

Glitches are nearly the same as scamming, giving an unfair advantage to someone else. For example, the staking glitch that came out a few months ago which let people wear armour in boxing fights which was an instant win, even a level 100 could beat a level 138 when the level 100 has an ags and claws vs nothing. Therefore giving an unfair advantage to something which should be fair, also this is breaking the rules of the boxing, which isn't fair and shouldn't be allowed. Do we let someone on sythe who breaks the rules get away without punishment?

    Luring

Luring is social engineering in a game. And just because its in a game does that mean its allowed? Its nearly the same as off-site scamming, and im 100% sure we have banned a lot of people from Hackforums and so on for making/selling/being interested in social engineering (http://ww3.sythe.org/showthread.php?p=10273047) Karls Response http://ww3.sythe.org/showpost.php?p=10273047&postcount=10

Social Engineering is Tricking/Conning people to do things for you, or to trick people out of personal information/passwords which is against the law.

In Conclusion, I think that we should stop the sale of luring guides and Glitches that can either directly or indirectly steal something off a player or trick them out of something, For example guides like this should not be allowed to be sold

http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1353242 - A Staking Glitch That Let You Wear Armour

Whereas guides like this should be allowed as they don't directly impact anyone

I agree, and I have always agreed every time one of these threads have come up. The things is that the 'powers that be' don't look at it that way. As you pointed out Superman even has a luring guide, and this is sort of the double standards. Social Engineering is Social Engineering be it in-game or getting a free keyboard - it is the same principles at work. It seems to be that Sythe's rules support SEing as long as it is in game, but not SEing if you are getting merchandise.

I see where you are coming from Stui, but no support...I just feel like its entirely up to the other person to believe in being lured/tricked. And as for glitching, when you said it "gives an unfair advantage to someone else", one can argue that RWT is basically the same thing. Its a weak rebuttal I know and I will have to give it more thought, but yeah...

RWT is hardly unfair, 99% of runescape community know about RWT and the ones that dont are people that have just started and will know about it within the next few days

Luring won't change. It's been discussed 100 times and no result. So I wouldn't waste my time on it.

This has been discussed to death and will not change. We are a cheating website is the simple explanation to why it's not going to change.
