Hacked through rarebot

hey guys, no im not just saying this. rarebot must have a keylogger in it, i hadnt downloaded anything else that i type my rs details into. i got the ip address it was a chinese one. but just warning you guys, might just be me but if u guys have been hacked and u tracked the ip address to china let me know.

I myself am not accusing since i havent used rarebot, only downloaded and installed. but afterwards i have a prompt from some java app wanting to install itself within my firefox browser, i declined it access but i wasnt sure if this was part of the bot or not, so i cant really speculate

 

More then likely was rarebot and nothing more, you shouldn't trust free bots nowadays, and should only use Scar/Simba.

a couple of my msn friends also brought this up, they said they had been hacked and believed it to be rarebot

I doubt rarebot hacked you. All those wanna-be "simba" guys please stfu and stop hating umad cuz our scripts are better? Cuz ffs rsbuddy was free and they never hacked rarebot would make so much more money if they were legit and the admins timezones doesn't add up to be the one of china and they speak english like an american, canadian, australlian or an english men. Btw newcomer....

 

Wouldn't use anything that you can't check the source of yourself outside of a VM. Chances are the bot isn't safe, too many coincidences coming from Epicbot and Rarebot. Just uninstall it and sweep your computer with a couple anti-malwares if you aren't comfortable with. I had rarebot and epicbot on my PC, but Rarebots community sucks and my PW on an account got changed so I dropped both of them for Simba.

 

Rarebot's community isn't that bad

 

I read that they're working towards making Rarebot open source.

Also; You may not have typed your passwords into any other program, but if you've downloaded something else related to rs let us know... Epicbot namely.

 

I am having this same problem i just lucky that i transfered my 1.2b rsgp to a newb account that has a giant password that i don't use for anything but just storage anyways i lose 50M because of this china thingy idk if it was the bot because last time i used it was last year but i am trying to find out more abou this china company.

if this is a an anti virus scam them not only runescape accounts got hacked but alot more than that and it might be some hacking group like anonymous but i dont really know and i dont remember if i sold my gear for money and traded the money or transfered it but i am really confused about it lol. i did change every information on my account and still their getting access i am going to change my bloddy username i think thats the problem.

also know that its not only 1 person getting this problem i use avast one of the best anti virus and each time i get a keylogger or anything bad avast is there to take care of it. meh i even changed my pc and reset it into windows 7 with a hole new system how could this guy get acess to my files?

 

Simba/SCAR are free bots.

 

I actually doubt that these bots hack people. First people were saying that epicbot was hacking but it turned out there legit. I'm pretty sure you just Downloaded something fishy

I doubt they are hacking. I use RareBot all the time.

 

I understand your frustration and sorry for your lost.

Perhaps to avoid your thread being closed you should change your title to:
"I used rarebot, and then I got hacked."
So you aren't claiming that it hacked you but rather just linking that these two happened together.
