autobumpers forcing legit buyers/sellers off the page

Can't think of an alternative to best this. I think you could report users if you find out they aren't trading after they bump their thread. I believe PlanBUK was in line to get infracted for doing something similar. Not sure on the ruling now though.

 

How are mods going to enforce this? How will they know who's false advertising? From reports only or some sort of spot checks?

i'm guessing if they receive a report they would handle it with a 24h bump ban

 

How many hours we talking here? I'd support like a 2 hour window or so.

 

a 2 hour window? Do you know how fast i can stock 07 after a bump? I sometimes buy enough 07 to last a few hours within 20 minutes after bumping...




I would suggest a 30 minute window, The staff team doesn't have the man power to lurk websites and skypes 24/7. There is also no way to weed out false advertising. I could be stocked 20 mins after a bump and if i say im not buying ill be punished? And then when i say im stocked im going to be what... interrogated and questioned for screenshots and trade logs?

You can't. People will get smart and stock up and if they bump and don't need any they'll say they can take a small amount or they'll simply offer a lower rate than the rest of the market.. and what... you going to punish them for not being rich or being able to take anymore?...... It doesn't work.

 

You can edit your title/thread saying you're no longer buying/selling, no?

 

Try messaging one of the 30+ gold site owners here and see if you get a reply within a day. Most of them don't check forums 24/7 and don't have time to jump on site to edit something so often. Pointless, added hassle for no reason.

 

Quite bad for services which have queues tho, where orders are pre-ordered anyways (Torsos voids fcapes skilling questing)

I completely agree with IHQ, sometimes within 10-20 minutes of a bump we can be full of stock, and we can also sell out of stock just as quick. If you want to monitor little gold sites who are more likely to be bumping for postcount and/or other reasons, then I'd be fine with mods doing spot checks every so often if it looked sketchy. The bigger gold sites shouldn't have to go through such a process.

 

i've noticed with some of the bigger goldsites, when ive bought gold from them, they ask you to vouch and link you to one of there selling / buying threads instead of the vouch page,
i never vouch unless im directly buying/selling from sythe. if im buying from your gold site i wont vouch, as i havent done the deal on sythe.

 

There is no rule against this, gold sellers are able to link their Sythe/Powerbot/Tribot etc threads to their sellers/buyers for the additional vouch. As long as they link the right thread (e.g vouch must be on selling thread if they sold gold)
