Steam Controller

Anyone played with one? I am thinking about picking one up for the hell of it.

 

I haven't used one myself, but I've only heard terrific things in both reviews and just random people who've bought it. It apparently plays well for console gamers who are used to thumbstick controllers, but also plays really well for PC gamers used to using a keyboard and mouse. I'm curious

My roommate has one that I've been meaning to try out. If I do I'll let you know how it is.

 

I watched that, and about 15 other reviews. The linus review didn't seem so bad, and there were many more reviews that praised it. I bought a display model without the dongle for $24 so it was cheaper than my used, off-brand Xbone controller.

depends on what you use it for. It isn't meant to play first person shooters, and it's really not too good for a driving game either. Those Over the top view strategy games and what not are where it's comfortable.

 

I really like it. I need to play with it some more to give a definitive opinion but I'm going to say better than standard 360/xbone.

 

I'd recommend it if you were used to it, more console gamers who convert to PC use a controller to ease their transition. It's also preferable to them to do so. I myself have tried using a controller but I struggled, I prefer the standard mouse. It is fun though, you can lean back and jam whatever it is you're playing since you're using a controller and aren't in need to sit upward to use the keyboard and mouse properly.

 

This is actually using it to type and it is pretty neat. It has autocorrect like a mobile keyboard. I really like it.

 

It's for sure one of the better controllers I've seen in a while
