Looking to buy a nice desktop for my birthday coming up tomorrow! 18 finally hahaha

Price budget is 1,600$ tops!

About the title, any thoughts on alienware x51? 16gb ram version?

DO NOT BUY ALIENWARE.

They're overpriced as hell, and they've gone downhill ever since they were bought out by Dell. You're paying for the name. You can get a system of the same specs for far cheaper if you build it yourself. It's not difficult.

If you can't build it yourself, and absolutely HAVE to have a pre-built system, then check out Falcon Nortwest, Ibuypower, or even newegg has pre-built systems. You'll save money and headaches in the longrun.

 

As n4n0 said. Alienware computers run high because they tend to only put in good CPU's. Everything else in a Alienware build are tacky as shit. Buy a prebuilt PC from Newegg. Or just build yourself one and save like $500 lol.

You looking for someone to help you find the parts, or to physically build it for you?

 

Will you want it to include your peripherals? Such as a monitor, mouse, keyboard..?

Or just a tower..?

If just a tower, I'd go with a motherboard you can overclock with. Probably an I5 3570K and boost that to 4.5ghz, then maybe a GTX 690 or single 780. Onboard sound, and a 1200W psu.

If you have money like me buy an alienware I got an X51 and a desktop that I built myself both run great My little brother uses the Alienware it's awsome.

 

I read this as "I enjoy wasting money"

Well Dell has been really good to me for the past 4 years so why not repay them for treating a long time customer good.

A waste of money in my opinion is buying a brand new car as soon as you take it out of the dealership BAM 3,000 dollars lost.

 

A waste of money would be buying a lambo that has the same old Honda engine that everyone else has in it.

 

I'm looking for someone to help me find some parts, and then I buy them and build them myself.

 

Do NOT buy Alienware! Build a PC yourself, or get somebody to do it for you.
