Make everyone change his/her password

I noticed the amount of trusted people getting hacked, the reason why is because they are using the same password as they use on other sites, and those other sites database has breached and those people are taking the advantage and hacking trusted people. If it wasn't for two factor authentication, sythe would be a hell hole right now.

You cannot prove this is the case.

And even if it was, why should everyone have to change their password just because some people don't know how to keep their account secure? And even if everyone does change their password, what will prevent this from happening again? You would not be solving the problem, you would only be putting a patch on it.

Also, most smart modern websites hash & salt their passwords to prevent this kind of thing.

It would make sense that with all the other databases getting hacked if you share the same password on sythe as you do there that's how people are getting their accounts hacked. Everyone 2FA their account. Sythe hasn't had it's database accessed also if your sythe password isn't unique to sythe make it unique to sythe. That's all I can recommend really.

i don't think you understand my point, yes most sites use hash and salt, its not hard to crack hash and salt, you realize that lol.

 

If someone skilled enough wants to hack your account, there's really not much you can do unless you have your account 2FA. As technology expands, hackers only get stronger.

I do this professionally mate, trust me, if you do it right, there's no gettin past it. Rainbow tables can help getting past a purely hashed password, but if you salt it there's to get past it. With today's technology, reversing modern hashing algorithms would take you years. The only way to get past it is by brute force(which are what rainbow tables are for, they're hash's that have already been brute forced).


So really, I think you're the one who doesn't understand.

you can't really force people to do it, if they are smart enough they will do it over a certain period of time repeatedly

 

^This. Most are skype hacks and not account hacks which have nothing to do with passwords. Hacking skypes is easy if you know what to do.
