Reorganize the feedback section

The Feedback subforum currently has 2 sub-sections (Individual Staff Feedback and Community Input) and a general Feedback page where people can post about anything. However a lot of the threads that end up here could be in community input and vice versa. They also prevent a lot of the community input threads from appearing more visibly, which is bad since a lot of decisions are made as a result of discussions held there; this should also increase the activity in that section, which I think is undeniably a good thing as it encourages everyone to use it to improve the site.

My suggestion is as follows:
-Remove the "general feedback" page so that clicking on Feedback from the homepage brings you to the (below) sub-sections and no threads themselves until you select a sub-section
-Replace general feedback with a third sub-section
-Rename and slightly repurpose the three subsections (names subject to change)
---Staff Feedback - this includes "whole of staff" feedback + thoughts about moderation
---Sythe Feedback - this is the sythe-related part of community input + all CDT stuff + "hey, what do you think about xyz aspect of sythe?" threads; generally, the big and far-reaching stuff about which changes often occur
---General Feedback - this is "hey, what do you think about xyz's ban?" threads + "what's your opinion on xyz community topic?" threads; generally, the small and specific stuff about which changes often do not occur

My goal is ultimately that people will use the feedback forums for useful and organized criticism and suggestions. Simplifying it should also encourage activity, which is always good when asking for community input on things, something I hope we as a whole will do more in the future. Thoughts?

 

I'd like to see it simplified also.

I strongly would like to see the 'general feedback' section gone and would like to have;

Simply have two subsections upon clicking 'Feedback'.

Staff Feedback:
- Individual staff feedback as it is now, with a sticky for the 'whole of staff feedback', within that subsection.​

Community Input and General Feedback:
- To include everything within community input and general feedback issues. This subsection would also contain the CDT feedback sticky and what not.​

 

I'd prefer just merging community input and feedback and then just having staff feedback as a sub section

 

If anything. Feedback & Community Input with a sub of Staff feedback.

More unnecessary clicks to get to something is just annoying

Yeah. I prefer that over Sellers suggestion too as that just requires extra clicks too. It doesn't need to be that difficult & simplicity is best.

I assume this needs to be cleared with rich before it's put into action however?

 

This. Community input was a stupid idea and it still is. People don't go to a lot of forums and they won't see all the threads in that section. Also if I have to click twice to see the Feedback forum like we used to have to do for suggestion, I'll murder someone's future wife (or husband if you're gay or a girl).

Sounds like a good idea, community input is not a very popular section.

 

Any addition to the Feedback section would be excellent. I've said it before, Feedback section literally has no feedback, and community section rarely any community input especially with the sub-sections. Nobody sees it and nobody participates as a result.

I like Roarys idea the most. That simplicity is great.
