Sythe chat is dead.

The chat is dead.
Add some sort of annoucement that all members will be able to view so it becomes more active
Im usually on there but there are only 2-3 people to talk to.

 

I try to go in but it always seems to automatically log me out or disconnect me, so I tend to give up using it.

I don't really see that changing anything. It'll never be even a fraction as popular as IRC was.

 

There's a sythe chat? How do I access it? lol I didn't even know. And aww, I forgot about IRC! What happened to it?

 

There have been numerous announcements for SytheChat in the past. It's not like 1 more will suddenly make it active.

 

Yea. No one ever hangs out in there so it's kinda boring.

 

So I guess the better question is how do we get people to join it?

 

It's unappealing, I'm not surprised.

 

Yeah it is really dead atm. I think that is the main reason no one is ever joining is because they look on it and they see only a few people and then they just close right out of it.

 

So like I asked how do we go about making it more active. From a personal standpoint that's why I don't ever join it.

 

I don't think this will get fixed, because noone really has time for that. Atleast I don't, and all of the other chatboxes I've been on were filled by trolls.

 

The problem isn't that it's not advertised, it's that it's not correctly implemented. The original idea was to have a facebook-style IM system, not a out-of-the-way chat box that opens in another tab and is only accessible through the index page on specific skins.

It needs to be integrated, just like facebook, for it to get any popularity. Convenience is what makes people willing to use features.

 

Once SytheChat gets out of the pre-release versions that Sythe himself is currently working on, I'm sure it'll be popular.
