    Removal of the Sports Section.

I can understand there wasn't a thriving community, but we all are connected to sports somehow. Many of us watch, play, or attend sports events and I can't see why the Sports forum was removed.

I would be more than happy to organize some fantasy leagues and/or hold competitions if the section was reopened.

I think we could have live discussion threads of the major games (Playoffs, etc) and even include some incentives for others to give their opinions.

I'd also love to see the sports memorabilia that users of the forum have. I'm sure even if they don't enjoy sports their dad or brother or someone has an interesting item that the sports community would enjoy discussing.

    Please put it back!

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Support this coming back. I'd be happy to contribute also, Fantasy Leagues & the sort sound fun.. Mini Rank for the winners.. Let's go!

Could also twine a sub betting forum into it, which could open up all sorts of doorways for Sythe if people offered tipping services.

A lot of you need to get out of the mentality of removing forums that don't affect the site if it lacks a little bit of activity.

By removing forums like sports and literature, you make other forums more cramped with unwanted topics.

The thing about general discussion is it's very active in comparison to other forums. Most threads are pushed down due to the constant activity. Do you think sports in general discussion would get the necessary people to respond? I don't think so.

Let's stop trying to make this site look smaller, because it affects other forums.

And you should get out of the mentality that you must argue until everyone agrees with you. There needs to be adequate activity for a forum; otherwise it just ends up like before the OT overhaul where there's umpteen dead sections just because we feel like having them. When people start making sports threads and they get a lot of response, that's when a section should be considered/added.

Forums like sports and literature are essential to any forum. They deserve their own sub forum AT LEAST.

Why do people start shitting out skittles when there is a suggestion for forum additions?

Adding a sub forum does not affect you, me or anyone on this site, nor does it make it cluttered. The reinventing of the site was done at staff's discretion because some people supported a suggestion.

    It's called debating btw.

Ive actually gotten irritated with the wannabe body builder and random ass sports threads in general. Even MORE irritated when I have no where to direct them.

Sythe actually does have quite a few sports fans, more than enough to warrant a subsection.

Seems ridiculous to KEEP "viral threads" which gets no use whatsoever and the only traffic it does get just brings in people who are into beasiality and nix a wholesome like sports..

I can't seem to see why a sports section would devalue the forum at all.

The thing I've noticed over the years is this: People always want new sections and they do get posted in but not nearly enough. A section will encourage people who are passionate about the topic to go in there and post, leading to a more diverse sampling of topics, but those who are not passionate will not leading to horrible inactivity. Not putting subsections for everything gives people less places to go for more content. The more content consumed by a user, the more likely they are to post. Subsections work when there is enough interest to have lots of people go there and post in the many various threads. They do not when there is only a little interest and most members do not bother going in there and going to all of the different threads since there is so little content in the section, and in each thread in the section.

Someone who has no idea about sports and is incompetent enough to understand that there are people out there that are passionate about sports would say make a single thread for all the sports. There are so many different sports out there so how would you combine them to one mega thread? Just think about that for a second and realize how much sense that does NOT make.

Almost every part of this forum has a "filled with crap threads", "whine and bitch and moan" thread. I see it so much in every single thread because people are bitching about prices or services or just the general gaming. So don't start with that.

    Let's get this done.

You're the only one here that sounds like a child. Hows about you tuck in your impulsiveness and be a little more considerate about the situation. Grouping sports in one thread is a terrible idea.

If we are going to bring sports, we also have to bring in literature imo.

The thing is, where would we put these sub forums? I'm thinking that a new forum should be created in off topic called 'Entertainment', or 'Leisure'.

    Sub Forums:

    Sports
    Literature
    Humor

    Just an idea.
