Verified Banner

So i was browsing new posts and I saw someone putting the little badge you get from donating that says "Verified" on their service thread (Now just to be clear you get this badge from donating any amount). At first I thought that it was a SVU badge but I noticed the person was only a $5 donator.

Now if i were a new member of the site and I saw someone with this on the top of their thread it would lead me to believe that this person ran a verified sythe service or something of that nature. I know it says "Donator" on it but The dark black bold letters just say the person's name and "Verified". I honestly don't really get the point of this seal in the first place because usually if you're going to donate you would have your rank up as well and to me this seal only gives a false sense of legitimacy from donating all of $5.

I kind of understand the point of seals in general but this one to me feels unnecessary and I feel like it could cause more harm than it could help.

 

Its probably my thread I saw it was usable perk so i put it on thread....No harm meant by it.

 

I have to agree with this.
It says ''verified'' on the button but to me a donation has no influence on whether I trust a person or not, especially $5.
If you want people to know you're a donator use your rank and people will notice.

 

The text just needs to be changed from "verified" to "contributer" or something to avoid confusion.

 

I'd be happy with that, or even "donator" would be fine.

 

Or just simply make it just say "Donator". In my eyes donating doesn't make you any more trusted than the next guy.

 

"Donor" would be the correct term ^

i reckon there shouldnt be that banner that comes along when your a donor, it should only come when your a SVU

 

The seal is a verification of your donation amount.

I'm not fan of 'verified' word too. Maybe SVU users could have 2nd version of it with 'verified' word, however regular donors shouldnt.

 

Sythe.org should not allowed to be used in that shit.

 

Agreed and would like some alteration made to those seals

 

We just need someone with photoshop to volunteer. You could make a thread in the graphics section and then PM the result to Matthew possibly? You could even consider just having someone re-do the whole look.

Going to bump this, if anyone skilled with GFX or Photoshop can change this to have all things that say "verified" to say "Donor" instead, please do so, post on this thread with the image/PM me the image and I'll try to get it to Matthew

Can someone make up a proposed version perhaps? Seems to be the quickest solution/way to get it implemented.

Also, after re-reading; people might prefer these if they have a donor status that isn't a rank e.g. 390$.

 

Matthew's the one who made the seals, I'm sure he still has the .psd files. Roary, get in touch w/ Matthew about changing it. There shouldn't be any need to have someone make one when they already exist.
