There should be something to fix it in your menu. It has it on plasmas but I don't know about LCD's. It should swipe the screen and restore it. Hope I helped so you don't gotta throw away money.

You might be correct, but I don't think that burned crystals are exactly fixable simply by resetting them, if they are, then it's new to me... I must research this.
