America has been involved in so many wars. In the last 100 years, which war do you think left returning veterans so traumatized, and why?

    edit:title meant *US INVOLVED*

I would believe any war America is involved in would be much more traumatic for the country America is going to war with, rather then/more so on the veterans.

    A clear example is, Iraq.

Also, America mostly hasn't been to war. Just the government and the army following their rules.

Well, I don't have the time to explain why, And which one.

    What i can quickly explain is this;
Every person who has seen combat action has some sort of trauma going on.
Whether they know it or not. Life changes for you. Life is no longer what it was, there is no more innocence involved.
To the guy in 11c that just heard over the radio his best friend in 11b was just Kia. That hurts, it hurts even more knowing you cant do anything about it, you cant rage, you cant just "Go kill some Hajis"
Or, To the families that have lost, Or have to cope with injuries. Living every day life on a whole different level. Because that person sacrificed himself.
Then the trauma when you arrive home, And everything you thought you were actually fighting for was meaningless, Because you have fake valors, People who disgrace you, people that attest veterans.
There are so many factors that are involved in the physiological side of trauma. The physical, as well.

There is no one war that has caused more pain then another. Because there are different victims in each. There are different outcomes, Different everything.

By making this topic im going to assume either, A. you are writing a paper, Or B. Just looking for answers?
whatever it may be, i hope this topic helps everyone understand just a little bit more, why veterans are so important to our community. Why we need to take the time to show them the respect that is deserved.

HOOAH. God bless AMERICA! God bless our troops, And god bless this country
    Trump for president!

I'm guessing you're referring to operations, because the U.S. hasn't declared war since WWII.

I don't think it's really fair to compare veteran's experiences from the different operations/wars, arguing "well they saw this and that HAD to be worse than that." No matter the war, almost everyone had some very bad experiences; furthermore, the severity of the experience will depend on the individual. Two people can experience the exact same thing and react completely differently, one having PTSD and the other one hardly flinching.

Anyway, in sheer amount of people having PTSD, I would argue WWII. This due to the sheer numbers of soldiers that were sent, alongside the very deadly operations (ex: D Day), and the disturbing acts that soldiers - whom were often 18-20 years old - stumbled upon (ex: holocaust & concentration camps). Even so, while WWII may (I have no idea) of brought back more veterans with PTSD (diagnosed or not), that in no way belittles all the veterans whom are fighting PTSD today and no matter the war, it's a shit show.

Vietnam might be the wonder pick as all veterans got dissed each and every time they openly admitted any involvement in that war.
