If we look at the U.S we see this attitude prevailing: Manual labor is looked down upon, therefore we have Mexicans do it.

No Romans exist today because they mixed with other races.

Well, in actual history Rome declined because of land bloat, poor government, and invading hordes. Romans weren't a race, because they were essentially all races. You had an empire that stretched from the Near East to the British Isles, and like the Phoneticians who they took many lessons from they were excellent at merging cultures to suppress and oppress. Essentially the Roman empire collapsed in on itself and eventually reformed as the European medieval super power the Holy Roman Empire which eventually disintegrated into much of what we think of as the German states.

 

Well the United States was founded on immigration, and it is the most powerful military and financial empire the world has ever seen. So the idea that multiculturalism is some kind of weakness is absolute rubbish. But I think you are already probably grossly confused about the issue (or rather non-issue) of race anyway.

It's a cliche, but we are all one race the human race. Fear of race, religion, sexuality etc. is just an artificial divide, entirely mind over matter, used by powerful rightwing vested interest to manipulate the ignorant.

It also caused a lot of trouble when the war was over, and is probably why the fear of "omg, foreigners, they're gonna take my house and my job" comes from - because that's what most people felt as immigrants populated towns and cities while the original immigrants were in combat. And I don't really think "powerful financial empires" have as much debt as America does.

We arent "making" anyone do anything. Illegals come and work $5-10 an hour LESS than what any self respecting legal tradesmen would work for. The owners of the companys have dollar signs in their eyes and work the illegals for the increased profit margin.

I work as a commercial carpenter, I'd know. This may be HALF ASS applicable to landscaping and fruit pickers and the like but once again, nobody makes them do a damned thing. They come to this country looking for work. Most skilled trade and manual labor is 1099 pay, meaning contract labor leaving the employee responsible for their taxes. It helps the employer employ illegals and the illegal by completely avoiding taxes altogether.

They come here for these jobs. They are only employed over say a legal worker due to their greatly reduced payscale expectations.

Both "money hungry" owners of the companies and immigrants are happy. All are benefiting, and some of us get some pretty damn nice lawns in the process. I see nothing wrong with it.

 

As said nobody forces anyone to do anything. It's usually due to lack of skills as in foreign county's it's often hard to find work and afford education. This means there's more competition for lower paying jobs causing them to pay even less.

The US hasn't always been in the debt crisis it's now facing. For a long time after the war it was operating at a surplus - it was the dominant world reserve currency, had huge influence on oil producing nations with the petrodollar which made the dollar strong and it was pretty much the only country with the capability to intervene on a global basis in any affairs it wanted.

Immigration hasn't done anything to damage America, if anything it's strengthened it. The real damage is the result of deregulation, the introduction of this casino economy, allowing irresponsible banks to act carelessly in order to make a quick profit - knowing full well if something goes wrong the tax payers will bail them out because they're too big to fail. The problems the US faces today are caused by the same people they've always been; rich white men.

 

Although America is a nation of immigrants, they have banded together to form one country, thus making them non-immigrants
The Roman Empire is miles difference to the relevance of America aswell
Rome was greedy, wanting more land then they could control, most of their citizens were conquered by Rome and thus will not fight for them(although sometimes forced)
Where as Americans want to be in America, they are not judged by what country there from
I know most Mexicans do labour work but if they applied for a better job and if they had qualifications they would be accepted, unlike Rome
