What do you think happens when we die?

What do I think that happens when we die?

I honestly just think it's the same emptiness as if we weren't even born yet. Just blank, everything goes away. Although, this reason is due to me always being a science > religion type of guy. A part of me also thinks, is your soul real? I mean, maybe there's a supernatural part of us that we have no idea about that cannot be proven with science that affects us when we die. Maybe we go into heaven or hell, or maybe our soul is transferred to a newborn baby?

I honestly think about this every single day. I don't know what happens when we'd die. The optimist in me would like to believe that people that have gone before me I WILL see again, but the pessimist in me constantly wonders how that will/would ever be possible.

I believe that you will just cease to exist and feel and experience nothing.

As i spend my life studying biology/chemestry/physics, i can tell you (from what i've learned) that the idea of "soul" is a trick created from our brain.
Our brain is indeed powerfull.

 

Even if you believe that, your consciousness is not a part of your body.

 

Despite consciousness being a complex idea, nowadays there's many advances in technology that can prove that it comes from various groups of structures that together they form "consciosness".
Cmon it isn't hard to think that our consciosness is all about brain, without it there's none in our body

 

It may be created by the brain but I does not makes sense to say that your thoughts are a part of your body does it?

 

Why? Back it up or it isn't an argument.

 

What about memories? It is proven that they are made and stored in our brain.

I strongly believe that we emancipate from our bodies and wander around the world.

 

sorry but being unable to touch is not a argument to say that something isn't real.
Also you don't need to see it to be able to touch it.

 

I did not say that it is not real. If you can not touch it, it is not a part of your body.

 

maybe the size of the memories compared to your hands, makes then "not able to be touched"? keep in mind the size of things when you talk about touching
