Reincarnation? & Karma?

First things first, I'm 17, I try my best at grammar, and if I mess up; let me know. This is going to be a long one, with my views, and I am open to others.

What comes to mind when reincarnation is stated to me? Buddhism.

Although I am not a Buddhist, I believe in Karma & Reincarnation. Karma is really perplexing to me, but at the same time it makes sense. Those books/magazines/movies you watch on Karma, have got it all wrong. You do not go into something saying "Hey, I'm going to help that old lady get across the street because I want some superficial from Karma." No, I believe that people who do nice things for karma, are evil. In order for karma to work, you have to not even want to be a nice person, it just naturally flows and you help those who need help, even if in the end you are only hurting yourself. For example, I caught myself a while ago acting like an asshole, and I wanted to be kind and do good things just to do it, and make other people feel good about themselves, and such. I did this for a whole month, expecting nothing from it, and although you may say "It's luck of the draw." or whatever, I'm poor, but I'm not the most unfortunate person in the World, nor am I the poorest. Anyhow, that same month, I found a free Sony stereo theater home system, a beautiful 300$ glass flat screen TV stand, a nice black wooden 3 foot tall matte movie/CD holder, a black/silver matte paint finish 6 foot tall lamp, and a black leather reclining chair. Now, you can tell me that it was luck that I found a lot of nice furniture whose colors all correspond to one another, and match my room, but damn. BUT, I do not believe in Karma with people. Like, if you do good onto others and such, you get Karma in materialistic objects. I do not believe if you do good things, the girl you've been after will all the sudden just love you for no reason. That's another subject, that I believe in fate with people.

Now, for my Reincarnation views. I believe in Reincarnation, although I have no scientific facts, nor do I have quotes. If you google this for a second, you will see that people have in there brains, a piece that is receptive to specifically RELIGION. When people see a Cross, or anything inferring Religion, there brain will react. So, I think that in some sense, everyone believes in something; like how Kids or some adults are scared of the dark, or walking outside when it's nighttime. This is because HUMANS ARE SCARED OF THE UNKNOWN. I think the reason why so many people want to believe in a God is because they are scared of the unknown and need a pillow to hold onto, or they need someone to talk to (EX: God) when no one else will listen, and it comforts them. I may believe in Reincarnation because I don't want to believe it's lights out after death, but from some conversations with people; and the way I have knowledge of things that I've never even studied, it makes sense to me about reincarnation. It's controversial, meaning the sanity of one, or myself may be questionable. It could just be my subconscious mind collecting information even when I don't notice, but when speaking to someone I can just know things about shit that I didn't even know before, and I've heard stories from GROWN adults about how they have flashbacks to there old lives.

I know none of this is cited, quoted, or whatever; but this is my own opinions, and I want to know what yours are.

 

I started typing a reply that picks apart your opinion step by step, but decided not to. Let me put this simply. The universe can't, and doesn't track the positive and negative actions of humans.

This section of the forum is for well thought out debates that can generally be backed by some sort of facts. This section is no place for an op-ed piece on religious mysticism.

 

You "finding" these items really has nothing to do with karma or reincarnation.
