Hey guys recently I have started work on a VPS server. It started as a personal project but as it evolved I thought it may be a good idea to open it to the public.

About 3 months ago I started working on a new style of VPS servers specifically imaged so that they work well with botting clients. The heart of the system works on Xen. On all of our machines we run CentOS because of it's amazing reputation as a light-weight OS which works great with X11 VNC. This gives each user alot of power inside of a stable environment. Each user will be assigned there own personal session on one of our VPS where they can run up to 2-3 bots at a time with our basic package. The OS used is linux based so you don't need to worry about virus or key-loggers stealing your information. My VPS (which I call Bot Tech) also supports SSH encryption so if you want you can tunnel using SSH and then VNC to the Bot Tech server.

The entire goal of this project is to put an end to over-priced VPS services like seerhost.com. This is not to say they don't offer quality service, they do but at $28 a month for just enough memory to run two bots it's not worth it. Bot Tech takes a different approach. We make botting using a VPS as fluid and easy as possible. As a matter of fact from logging in it only takes 3-4 clicks to start a bot. You no longer have to worry about the "java installation problems" and crap that honestly you didn't pay for.

Again our goal is to offer prices as low as we can our basic 2gb package with 99.9% uptime starts at just $18.99 and if for some reason were down we'll role that time back onto your session so you'll never miss out.

Currently we have a team of server admins all well versed in VPS related problem troubleshooting. You can also contact us via [email protected] or just PM me personally (I check my sythe quite frequently).

Here are the features that we offer:

    1. Very secure encryption between client and server
    2. A trusted virus free OS (CentOS, running on-top of SElinux).
    3. Your own personal login
    4. Fast connectivity very little lag between client and server
    5. A bot friendly environment preloaded with the most popular bots.
    6. A "wipe-when done" policy guaranteeing the user information (authentication codes, usernames, and passwords) will never be exposed.
    7. Automatic updates keeps the server working at maximum efficiency.
    8. Cheap rates with a basic package starting at $18.99 a month.
    9. Uses Xen! Great java support!

Let me know what you think. I would be willing to allow a few to try it out. If you don't feel comfortable logging in on an RS account don't worry...you can use a free auth code and a throwaway account just to test the server!

Setting up your VNC client to work best!

For those of you who have ever owned a VPS before you know that one of the most annoying things about it is laggy-nous between client and server. This is ofcourse caused by the massive amount of data passed from the VNC server to the client. Since your network is probably not as fast as your graphics card you will always have a little lag. The following steps show how to reduce that lag.

This is for the TightVNC client only. You can replicate these steps on most modern clients but I find this to be the easiest and fastest free client so I will provide instructions for it.

    Step one:
Check and make sure you are on a fast network.
You don't need ridiculously fast speeds but you do need to be on a modern network. Examples DSL, Cable, and 3g and up. You will not get very good performance if you are on a dialup network...sorry.

    Step two:
    Switch to low-bandwidth mode.
this is a good option even if you are on a fast network. It sacrifices image quality for speed.

    Step three (optional)
    Switch on extreme low-bandwidth mode
only use this option if you can it is still extremely laggy.

    Hope this helps!

Yeah, will do. I have already installed a personal one for myself and a group of friends...I'm working on a second one for the general public. I may have to talk to my ISP if this gets to big.

It's not very hard to buy a VPS, change the theme and download the bot client like you have done. Everything else offered is standard anyway.

You haven't listed anything that isn't standard- all you've done is make it sound high tech.

Admittedly I don't have the firepower that the link in your ad describes...however as an active member of the Sythe community I will be able to troubleshoot any problems that people are having. Also every server on that site has been temporarily down for the last 6 hours...so I highly doubt their claim regarding the 99.9% uptime. Their live support is also knocked down.
I'm not running a business like these people its a service to the sythe community. The money would only go towards paying for the bandwidth and for the hours I put into setting this up.

If you know anything about Linux you would see that you are wasting RAM by running a full featured GNOME set-up.

Make the images in Arch Linux with nothing but openbox. Make the obmenu so that when you right click the desktop you ahve the option between RSBot, RSBots.net, etc.

If you can't do this you shouldn't be selling VPS's!

Quite a few VPS's for botting popping up, my one will released either tomorrow or Tuesday and it will have more and even cheaper than the $13 quoted. This isn't really anything special.

    OT: Use Nexus and Powerbot.

Yep, I'm pretty excided now. My main goal at this point is feedback...I want make these VPS servers fit the needs of the typical RS botting community... so go ahead make a list of features you want to see in the VPS and I'll try to incorperate them into the final product.

So far NeXus is winning. So it will definitely be included in the final image.

Also a question to linux know-it-alls. Can X-window system support glibc 2.5. I'm making a test image right now but just thought I'd ask.

    Price, reliability and customer service.
Those are the three things I look for when changing my vps provider, having a client pre-loaded onto it doesn't win the sale. Just concentrate on those three points stated above if you want it to be successful.
