No one seems to have addressed this problem yet, so I'll give it a shot.

You're getting those errors because you've turned on the LoS and height in your Mangos.conf file or some other manner. The vmap files supply the Mangos server with the information it needs to make it so that creatures and NPCs can't see through walls, attack you through walls, attack you from underground, and several other cute little things they can do without the vmap.enableLOS and vmap.enableHeight set to '1'.

As for making the vmaps, I'm going to say that I had one helluva time doing it. I tried several of the vmap extractor versions that were out without success, until I got the ones from the Mangos github here.

You should get that entire directory downloaded. I ran the 'make vmaps.bat' file in the 'World of Warcraft' folder. It took about an hour to make do the work. Do not stop the process once started. I then copied the 'vmaps' folder that is made in the process to my Mangos server directory.

You need a little bit more than 1.75G free space to extract and assemble the vmaps. So, if you do like I did and copy it, you'll need about 3.1G free at least for the job.

When you're done, restart your server if it was still running when you copied the 'vmaps' folder. When you bring it back up and log in, you'll notice the difference soon. Mobs will only see you when you come into sight, and they won't run through walls to attack you.

Edit: I should have pointed out that I'm running Mangos 0.14.0-DEV Revision 8305 for Windows with WoW patched up to 3.1.3. I haven't created a high-level char to see if Northrend and Outlands is working well or not, yet. I did .tele into Auchindown and things seemed to be working there, and Dalaran looked to be working well, too. Those two places were the limit of my explorations on a level 12 character, though.
