You'd have to multithread the shit out of that to get it working properly. All syntax highlighting code AND controls I've tried for both C# and VB.net have a significant amount of lag, or cursor issues.

SharpDevelop uses a WPF control called Avalon Edit which is both open source and fairly easy to use. I know you use Winforms, but you can easily and nicely host the control inside a winforms environment using the Interop ElementHost. If you're still interested in having an editor and cbf to learn how to do the interop properly (there are no examples online for this control lol) I can do it for you. Took me a couple hours to figure everything out, but it works really well
