Why do you choose Rs3 over Rs07?

Hey guys, so I created an identical thread on the oldschool subsection regarding the same question. Just curious as well as eager for a little discussion, why do you guys choose Rs3 over Rs07?

 

I enjoy things from both, but I have banned twice on 07 without doing jack shit ive been back for a month and a half in rs3 and not a damn problem managed to get 99 runecrafting. Regardless I enjoy the updated graphics and quests and am even growing kind of partial to the combat system. I havent enjoyed combat ever and its become slightly more bearable watching my guy dance around.

 

Rs3 training is much better, 07 for nostalgic reasons. If you show both games to a person whos never seem either game, RS3 is definitely the superior game.

 

Because I simply like Rs3 better as a game.

 

Makes sense to play the game that's the actual version, the real runescape, not an old archaic one that isn't taking advantage of the technology today has to offer.

 

Oldschool Runescape is also a official version of the game, maybe by actual you mean "original" version?

 

I only play RS3 to dg, but I haven't been very active lately. Busy maxing a pure on 07

 

I've been playing Runescape since 2004 and honestly I just prefer the modern version of the game over any other. 07 is nice for what it is. But we have to acknowledge what exactly it is, an inferior version of the current game designed with veteran players in mind to give them a taste of once upon a time. No one entirely new to Runescape in their right mind would choose 07 over RS3. If the nostalgia ever wears off, as will 07.

 

Currently, I play way more 07 than Runescape 3, however Runescape 3 does have some nice things that I enjoy doing, like:

Bossing - I like the strategics that go into bossing on Runescape 3. Vorago is something I've recently been doing and enjoying. I do it for fun, not gp.

Quests- The quests in Runescape 3 are high in volume and usually high in quality as well. Only a handful are in 07. Still a lot, but not as many.

Diversity in Skills - more ways to train em. Also skills like Slayer have a myriad more monsters to keep the skill fresher and exciting.

Still a challenge, but not a mind numbing grind like 07- Much easier to progress in the game, but still challenging & rewarding to a fair degree.

From my experience, less spastics in Runescape 3 - There are still a copious amount of people attempting to scam and lure, but the community is more tolerable than 07. This is simply from my experience and arbitrary in that it is reserved to only my judgments.

 

Rs3, would play rs07 but I just don't have enough time to train skills there as it is much slower than on rs3.

 

I play RS3 Legacy mode only. started playing 10 years ago so I've already played 07's version of the game when it was live. I gave 07 a shot actually went on last night and trained a few levels, but I don't see a point in playing a game that's a historic version of the game I spend most of my time on. I like the new achievements such as 120 capes, dungeoneering etc. I really don't like EoC, but legacy is perfect for me.

 

I really enjoy the graphics and the interface customization of RS3. Plus I like the content in it more.

 

Mostly because I can't seem to get into OSRS. I'd be better off playing OSRS because once you're done, you're done. With RS3, there's always updates and whatnot. But RS3 still is a more attractive game overall imo.

 

I can't stop playing RS3 until I max.

 

My RS3 account is the one I made when I was in elementary school. There's no way I can give up on it ever. Now that RS3 has legacy mode, I don't mind playing the game again. Also, I had a hard time getting into 07 because I had to start over, which I really didn't like doing.

 

Played classic for 3 years after rs2 came out.

osrs has a jmod team and more than likely wont die, however its not runescape its the past and im not playing the past.

 

I choose RS3 over OSRS because I do not like walking around as a brown rectangle holding a grey square and a blue circle attacking green triangles.

In otherwords, 07 graphics make me throw up in my mouth a bit. Not only that, but the interface is pretty gross. I have to believe the 50K now playing are now bots, only dominating RS3 because OSRS is now permanent F2P with far weaker bot detection systems and currency worth much more than RS3's.

 

Because I live in 2015, not 2007.

Also because the updates they put into oldschool ruined it for me. If it was a clone of the game in 2007 I might be more inclined to play a bit for nostalgia purposes from time to time but other than the graphics it doesn't feel like Runescape 2007 to me.

 

2007 is nostalgia and probably won't/shouldn't attract the newer playerbase, I imagine the odd person does take to it, but not many.

RS3 is absolutely the better game, even though I don't like it because 2011/12 was the game I adored the most.

There are a copious amount of bots in Runescape 3 again, where have you been?

When I made a Rags to Riches series it was ruined because of bots. Green Dragons and Blue Dragons were littered with them.
