RuneScape PLAYER Staff

I wanna' hear your opinion on player staff. Discussion should include how they are chosen, what their roles/duties are/should-be, if you or someone you know has any aspirations to become one, anything related to player moderators either in-game or on the forums under Jagex's leadership.

Lets make this an interesting topic worth reading.

 

I'm not 100% sure on their duties, and it depends if they're given forum permissions or not. As a regular in-game pMod, they should just keep the peace.. Last I knew they were capable of 48 hour mutes. Mute anyone who acts up, and forward it to JMods for further evaluation.. Aside from that there isn't much else a pMod should be able to do for a plethora of reasons. Obviously I think all pMods should be generally friendly and nice, and I would choose based off their everyday attitude (review logs).

 

Its a good idea, but i dont believe they have too much say it what happens. More j-mods.

 

i don't think they have much power other than muting people and maybe banning people by getting more direct access to staff. other than their pretty crown and some hidden forums, im not too sure if they have some serious power over anything

 

There ARE a lot of players that are Jmods as well. Im obviously not naming them. But they cant even log with their Jmod account anywhere else other than the Jagex HQ.

 

Everyone's wanted to be a player mod at one point and followed all the rules and stuff. I always thought (when I was younger) the more times you report someone the better chance you have of becoming a player mod. Ended up being warned for reporting people too much ;p

 

Lol. When I was younger I thought that too but I wasn't alerted and warned , But when I got caught botting in 2010, I was reporting everyone for no reason XD

 

I'm pretty sure everyone who plays RS wishes to be a player moderator at one point of time. The most obvious ways you can become on is:
No/Little blackmarks
Frequent but right scam reports(Quality>Quantity)
Old player
Active on RS forums
Membership(?)

I got mute because I piss off a player mod in castle wars, most ridiculous thing ever.

Wasn't it something like if you get muted a second time, its perm mute? Or no, that was just something I made up?

 

I'm pretty sure PMods can't permanently mute other players.

 

We all know if you know a JMod personally or geek out on their friend chat you're getting PMod. And that most PMod's are obnoxious, big-headed or don't speak in public - which PMods should do; interact and grow the community.

 

Exactly, most of the people you see in mod fcs ranked are pmods <.<

Pmods don't have that much power.

 

they are probably chosen by connection with someone through jamflex or if you report, help people and post on forums. nobody knows really
