Rsguides.net - The New way to search for RuneScape Guides

Hey, Sythe! Thanks for taking the time to check out this post. My RuneScape name is Brink, but you can call me Dylan.

One problem I've had throughout my 8 years of playing RuneScape is finding guides. But not just any old guides. Great guides. There are just so many.

To remedy this problem, what I've done is build a website for myself and the thousands of players who have grown frustrated with having to search through multiple guides before finding one that suits our needs.

It allows users to submit guides, tag them, comment on them, and, most importantly, upvote/downvote them and sort them by score.

I encourage you all to contribute to this resource! I want to use it so badly, but sadly, this will really only work if many people use it.

Please leave me feedback here (I'll give you 2m if you do). I really want to know what you all think about this, and if there are any more features I can add to make your lives easier. Rsguides.net isn't mine. It's ours.

It's not a bad idea but I don't know many people who actually use guides these days (on rs3 anyway). Is it guides for all versions of rs or only for one side of it?

 

I think that the idea is very cool, I hope it takes off! I don't really play these days but I'd probably have used it during the days that I played. Once you get enough guides on there hopefully searching "99 cooking guide" on google will lead to your site, and people will start just typing in your website right off the bat when they need something.

Also Nt A Charity I disagree, I think if I was going to level smithing I'd google a guide for the bars that I needed at each level etc.

Website needs a better design and also you should maybe rewrite the tutorials and host them on your site? That way you will get good seo ranking.

 

Thanks for the feedback! I've actually taken a step back and have come to the conclusion that there needs to be more guides up there. Users want to see thousands. I'm going to try to add a few hundred today.

Sorry if I may have sounded wrong. I was just saying that I didn't know a lot of people who used guides still.

As far as the actual website goes, I think it's a good idea for the guides website. And as feedback I would say make sections. What I mean is keep the same "skills, minigames, Pvm, misc" layout but make seperate RS3, 07 and RSC guide sections.

 

Really diggin' the idea, granted I don't use RS3 so hopefully you expand towards 07 as well.
